At Sherburn Hungate the Healthy School Award is recognition that we provide a safe, secure and stimulating school environment, which promotes opportunities for raising self-esteem and confidence; encourages pupils to develop a healthy lifestyle; become active citizens and enables all of our children to actively participate in their own learning. Below are some of the exciting 'healthy school' initiatives that we have introduced or improved recently. Click on the hyperlinks for more information:

The staff and pupils at Sherburn Hungate are very proud to have been awarded the Healthy Schools' Logo following a rigorous assessment by an external Healthy Schools' Assessor during December 2003. It is official recognition of the excellent work we do in promoting all areas of personal,social, citizenship and health education  (PSHCE). 

The official presentaion of the award was made by John Grogan M.P. on the 5th March 2004.
