This years Easter Concert was a celebration of our pupils' musical talent. Talanted children sang and played a range of musical instruments: recorders, guitars, piano, violins, trumpet, keyboards and flutes. A special thank you to Mrs Coates, the peripetetic music teachers and past pupils who visited from Sherburn High to share their musical talents.

House Team Logos
This Summer Term we launched our new House Teams, an idea put forward by the School Council. Every pupil has been allocated to a team, which they can earn 'points ' for. Points can be awarded for academic or sporting achievement, being kind and helpful or showing any kind of initiative. A shield is awarded each week to the winning team. We held a closely ran competition to design House Team Logos for the Four Teams, which we names after 'The Elements' of Fire, Water, Earth and Air, the winning designs are shown below:

READY STEADY COOK VISITS HUNGATE!
The children had a very special treat during assembly when the stars of 'Ready, Steady, Cook' visited. Ainsley Harriet (aka Mr Latham) compared a close contest between the Red Tomatoes (Mrs Fitch and Hannah,Y6) and the Green Peppers (Mrs Sawdon and Ryan, Y6), as they made pancakes in anticipation of Shrove Tuesday. The green peppers were narrow winners, even though both teams had difficulty tossing their pancakes!
