The Governing Body

All schools are required to have a Governing Body. That Body is composed of a number of people who represent community interest in the school. At Hungate the Governing Body is composed in the following way:- 6 parent governors, 4 LEA governors, 2 teacher governors, 1 staff (non-teaching) governor, 4 community governors and the Headteacher.

Each governor may hold office for not more than four years unless they hold office ex officio such as the Headteacher. When the four year term has expired, governors may be re-elected, or re-appointed.
The Governing Body meets six times each year in order to carry out its wide range of duties and legal responsibilities in relation to the life of the school. Those currently serving on the Hungate Governing Body are as follows:-
