HOMEWORK

Earlier in this document, reference has been made to the vital part all parents can play in the education of their children. Homework can take many forms from reading at home, researching for a topic, finishing work off, revising for a test, learning relevant spellings, practising tables/number work, practising handwriting to planning out a story or poem.

- Whatever activity the teacher has asked a child to undertake at home, we hope that you will help your child to value what he/she is being asked to do. We will try to give your child more than one night to complete homework.

- Set aside the most appropriate time which guarantees peace and quiet so that whatever is being done is undisturbed and of quality. If ever you are in doubt about a task that has been set, please contact your child's teacher straight away.

- Working at home reinforces the value the school puts on the activities in which children are engaged.
- Working at home reinforces the work ethic from an early age.
- A homework diary is used in Key Stage 2.
