For our growing topic, we set up a 'Growing Area' in our Classroom. We grew sunflower seeds and beans. We could look closely at the plants growing using magnifying glasses.

We set up investigations and observed these each week.

We talked about our growing topic during our class assembly in March. 

We have been learning our double numbers.

                             We painted daffodils using watercolour paints.

SCIENCE FAIR

In September, All the Year 2's visited the Science Fair. This was a day of science challenges organised by North Yorkshire Organisations.

We had to find out who had stolen the milk bottle by fingerprinting everyone. North Yorkshire Police led this activity.

The Royal Air Force set us a challenge to make a garage for an aeroplane. We had to work as a team.

Pizza Express set us a  task to make a pizza and taste the toppings!

North Yorkshire Ambulance Service told us about first aid and let us have a go at 'mouth to mouth' recovery.
